Matt O’Bryon

Investment Analyst

Matt O’Bryon serves as an investment analyst and provides operational support for Dynamic Alpha Solutions and its clients. During college (2008), Matt was able to be a founding member at Stratos Wealth Partners, working in operations, RIA transitions, and recruiting.

But his love of investing pushed him to help start Stratos’ internal asset management arm, Stratos Wealth Management Group (SWMG for short, now Fundamentum investing, 2011). The idea was simple; most advisors are best at planning and relationship management as opposed to portfolio/investment management. He served as Lead Portfolio Manager (fundamental strategies) for five years. Along with Stratos’ CIO, SWMG grew to over $350 million in assets at the time he left (2015).

From there, Matt joined Landing Point Financial Group, serving as their in-house investment manager and eventually Managing Partner and CIO. There he oversaw the firm’s investment committee, internal models, and trading process and led the push to leave Ameriprise and become a stand-alone RIA.

As time passed, Matt realized that traditional asset management was not prepared to deal with the current investing challenges. Having always been a fundamental investor, he started taking a deep dive into the alternatives space almost in parallel with Dynamic Alpha Solutions. When he learned about the team at Dynamic Alpha Solutions, he jumped at the opportunity to help advisors navigate the increasingly complex world of alternative investment management.

His areas of focus are investment research, portfolio construction, manager due diligence, and operational and implementation support for advisor teams.

He holds a series 66 and the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification.

Matt lives with his wife Nicole and daughter Hailey in Cleveland, Ohio. When he isn’t reading research reports or listening to investing podcasts, he can usually be found cooking, playing golf, or spending time with family.
